Pair two Pokémon from the same egg group, wait out the egg, and see what hatches. With some planning, every generation gets a little closer to perfect.
Breeding works off egg groups, so the two parents need to share one. You get an egg, and it sits in the incubator until it's ready. Eggs come in different rarities, from common all the way up to mythic.
You start with a few egg slots and earn more as you play, so you can keep several eggs going at once. When they're done you can hatch them one at a time or all together.
A baby takes three IVs from its parents. With a Destiny Knot it takes five, which is how people work toward a perfect 6IV Pokémon.
If a parent holds an Everstone, its nature gets passed down. Abilities carry over too, along with the odd egg move.
Most eggs hatch the Pokémon you expect, but not all of them. Some hatch shiny. Sometimes one egg turns out to be twins. Every so often you'll get a mutation and something else entirely comes out, and some eggs hatch into a regional form.
The Bicycle and Super Car cut down how long eggs take, and the Egg Warmer helps too. Breeding the same species a lot raises your mastery with it.
Your stats keep count of everything you've bred and hatched, including shinies, twins, mutations, perfect hatches and your personal bests. There are achievements along the way that give credits, egg slots and titles. Hatch 100 eggs and you're a Legendary Breeder.
